It was a beautiful spring day in Hazzard. All was going well, but that was about to change. About the time the Duke boys were coming back from town with a load of supplies, a truck filled with hazardous radioactive waste was making it's way through Hazzard on it's way to a containment facility. Little did the driver's know that someone was waiting to hijack them.
"Ok people, the truck is almost here. Get ready."  one of the people in the car said, obviously the leader of the group
"Are you sure this is going to work Rick?" the guy in the passenger seat asked
"Yes i'm sure Arnie." Rick snapped "Stop worrying."
No one said anything else and they waited for a few minutes longer, until the truck was in view and driving by them
"Ok  Brad. Go for it." Rick told him
Brad put his foot down on the gas and shot out of the trees they had been hiding in. He came up behind the truck and lightly taped it on the fender.
"Be careful." Rick told him "We don't want to damage the goods."
Brad snorted "Let me handle it bro. I've got it." he said
After a moment it didn't appear that the truck was going to stop.
"They aren't going to stop." Brad said
"Go around them then and cut them off." Rick ordered
Brad did as he was told and just about the time he was going to go around the truck on the passenger side, the man sitting there produced a gun and shot at them. Brad back off and pulled in behind the truck again. The driver's of the truck had to protect their cargo from getting into wrong hands.
"I hate it when people shoot at me." Brad said and then rammed the car into the back of the truck.
"Brad! Don't!" Arnie shouted.
Brad didn't listen and hit the back of the truck a few times.
Rick took a gun out of his pocket and rolled down his window. "Stop Brad. I'll get him" he said, angrily
Rick aimed for the back tire on the truck and fired. The tire blew and the truck was forced to come to a stop. Brad stopped the car behind them
"Arnie, Harry, Brad. Go to work." Rick told them as they all got out of the car.
As Arnie and Harry got both the guards who had been up front out of the truck. Brad opened up the back and looked over the cargo. Rick came over to him. Neither of them saw the barrel that was leaking. Both of them could hear the gunshots as Arnie and Harry killed both the guards.
"When i tell you to stop hitting them, i expect you to do as i say." Rick told Brad.
"Your not our mother," Brad snapped
Rick nearly slapped him, but decided not to. "I'll ignore that. Let's get out of here." he said and then turned towards the car and then suddenly looked up as he heard a car approach.
"Head's up people." he shouted over his shoulder "We have company."
The car came into view, and Rick saw that it was orange with an 01 painted on the side and two guys in the front.
The driver of the orange car noticed them and stopped. Rick could see him talk to the dark haired guy next to him and then they both got out of the car.
"Hey," the dark haired guy asked "What's going on here?"
"Nothing you need to be concerned about boy." Rick told him "Get back in your little car and leave. Forget you ever saw us." he said
Bo and Luke looked at each other.
"Hey Boss." Arnie said coming over to where Rick stood. "I don't think you should let them go. They can identify us." he said
Rick nodded "Yeah your right." he said and then looked at Bo and Luke "Alright you two, out of the car." he said
Bo and Luke looked at each other and Luke nodded. Both of them got out of the car. They walked over to where Rick stood and he smiled at both of them.
"Well, what shall we do with you two?" he asked, looking at them
Bo looked at Luke and Luke barely nodded at Bo.
"You could let us go." Bo told him at the same time he brought his fist up and hit Rick across the face.
Rick was not expecting that and it the force of the punch knocked him off his feet. Luke hit Arnie and they got into a tussle. Bo forgot about Rick and started in on Brad. Harry came around from the front of the truck and went over to help Rick
"Do you want me to help?" he asked, as he got Rick standing.
Rick shook his head "No," he said "We're going to have to get out of here. Go get into the driver's seat of the truck. Wait for my word."
Harry nodded and did as he was told. Rick watched the fight.
Bo and Brad were on the ground rolling around. Arnie had Luke by the arm and used it to propel Luke into the back of the truck. Luke hit the barrels in the back which stopped his forward motion. He put his hands on the floor of the truck and levered himself out of it. Unfortunately he also managed to get some of the radioactive waste that was leaking from one of the barrels on his hands and some of his shirt. He didn't notice it as he turned back around to face Arnie.
Rick getting a little tired of all of this and anxious to get going, took his gun and fired it at the sky. Everyone froze
"Alright. That's enough." Rick said. "Arnie and Brad, let's go." he said "You two boys, stay right where you are."
As Brad got to his feet, he hit Bo across the face and Bo fell back onto the ground stunned.
"Now Brad." Rick snapped at his brother.
Rick, Brad and Arnie got into the car and Rick signaled to Harry to go ahead. Rick looked over at the boys. "Be glad i don't kill you." he said and got into the car.
Bo and Luke watched as they disappeared down the road. Luke walked over to where Bo sat.
"Hey, you ok?" he asked
Bo nodded "Yeah," he said and got to his feet. He noticed both of the guards on the ground not to far off. "We should check on them though."
Both boys walked over to the two guards. It was obvious when they got there, that both were dead.
"Shoot." Luke sighed
"Um." Bo said turing around and walking back towards the General "I think i'm going to give Rosco a call and tell him what is going on." he said.
Rosco showed up a short time later with an ambulance. He took statements from both the boys and said he would look into it. "I hope you boys aren't making this up and you actually did this yourselves." he said
"Rosco!" Bo said
Rosco sighed "Ok." he said "I'm going to look into this. Don't go very far. I may need to talk to you again." he said
"Sure." Luke said and then turned to Bo "Come on. We are late with this stuff as it is?"
As they got into the General, Bo noticed some stuff on Luke's hands. "Hey, what do you have on your hands?" he asked
After Luke got in, he looked at his hands and then shrugged "Not sure." he said and then rubbed them on his jeans. "Whatever was in that truck." he added
"Anything dangerous." Bo asked in a half kidding tone as he started the General up
Luke laughed "Doubt it." he said

At that same time, Rick and his group had made it to there hideout. They had decided after they hijacked the load that they were probably going to have to lie low for a little while. Their hideout was a cave near the Hazzard Water Works, a pretty safe place from anyone trying to look for them.
"Boss." Arnie called. He had just opened the back of the truck.
"Yeah," Rick said, coming over to him.
"I think we have a little bit of a problem." Arnie said, pointing at the barrel that was leaking
"Shit." Rick said and then turned to his brother. "Brad, you damn fool." he said "I told you to not ram the truck."
"Hey, i'm sorry. I didn't know that was going to happen." Brad said in defense
Rick glared at him for a moment, but let it slide. "Well, it doesn't matter now. There's nothing we can do about it."
"I've got an idea boss." Harry said from where  he was sitting on the car, polishing his gun.
"And what's that?" Rick asked, looking at him
"Well, why don't we make them pay a ransom. If they don't give us what we want then we dump that stuff or at least the damaged one in the water supply."
"That's a great idea Harry." Rick told him. "First thing tomorrow we will deliver the terms that we want and if they don't give it to us, then those folks in Hazzard will be some sick people.
"What should we do about this damaged one for the time being?" Arnie asked
Rick thought for a moment. "Get the rest of those barrels out and then close that one up inside the truck. Be careful though, i don't want any of ya'll sick." he said and then walked over to where Harry was sitting on the car.
"Harry and i will come up with the stuff we won't. You two get to work." Rick said in a tone that left no room for any arguments.

Hours later, it was nearing bedtime for most everyone in Hazzard. The Duke family were about to go to bed themselves. Rosco had come back out to the farm shortly after dinner to talk to Bo and luke for a little bit, but fortunately for them he didn't hassle them that much. He also said that as soon as he could find out about what that truck had in it, he would tell them.
"You feeling ok, Cousin?" Bo asked as he and Luke got ready for bed.
Luke nodded "Yeah. Why?" he asked
Bo shrugged and laid down on his bed "No reason. You just look a little pale is all." he said
Luke shrugged "No, i'm fine." he said and climbed into bed.
Bo reached up to turn off the light. "Night" he said
"Night." Luke said, in between a yawn.
Both boys were asleep in minutes.

Sometime over in the middle of the night a soft thud awakened Bo. He opened his eyes a little and listened for it again, and after not hearing anything else, he was about to close his eyes and go back to sleep when he heard the noise again. He sleepily lifted himself up on one elbow and reached over and turned on the light. As soon as he did he saw the cause of the thudding.
Luke was on the floor, and appeared to be locked in some kind of convulsions.
"LUKE!" Bo cried, instantly awake and jumping out of his bed. He knelt by his cousin's side and put a hand on his arm. Luke continued his thrashing "Luke, what's wrong?" Bo asked, but received no answer. "UNCLE JESSE!!!" Bo shouted not wanting to leave Luke's side to go wake his uncle.
Bo pulled Luke into his arms and held him, trying to stop the convulsions his cousin seemed to be locked in. There was a knock on the door a short time later, about the time that the convulsions seemed to be going away.
"Bo?" Jesse questioned, sleepily.
"Uncle Jesse," Bo said, "Come here." he added.
Jesse walked in to see Bo holding Luke who was still convulsing slightly. "What's going on?" he asked
"I don't know." Bo said, his voice frantic. "I woke up and found him like this."
Jesse knelt by Luke's side and put a hand on his forehead. "He's burning up." he said.
The convulsions stopped completely a moment later.
"Luke, " Uncle Jesse questioned "Luke, you ok?"
Luke moaned softly.
Jesse took a hold of Luke's head and looked into one of his eyes. The pupils were dilated and instead of it being the normal white around the pupil, it was a yellowish color instead. Jesse new something was wrong, but he didn't know what.
"Sick." Luke moaned suddenly and then coughed.
Bo and Jesse got to there feet and got Luke to a standing position. Between the two of them, they managed to get Luke to the bathroom.
Luke got sick for a couple of minutes before it finally stopped. Jesse also noticed there was some blood mixed in.
Bo sat down on the bathroom floor and pulled him into his arms. Uncle Jesse got a wash cloth and turned on the cold water and wet it down. He then knelt by his two nephews and gave the wash cloth to Bo. Bo took it and then wiped Luke's face off with it.
"Luke?" Jesse asked
"Cold." Luke moaned, starting to shake.
"Cold. He's hot as anything." Bo said as he wiped Luke's forehead with the wash cloth.
"Hey," said a sleepy voice behind them "Whats going on."
"Daisy, go get a blanket. Please." Jesse instructed.
Confused, Daisy nodded and went to go get a blanket.
"What could have caused this?" Bo asked as he stroked his cousin's hair.
"I don't know." Jesse said "We need to get him to the hospital though. I'll go call an ambulance."
Bo looked up and shook his head "No, we may not have time for an ambulance to get here. I'll take him."
Jesse nodded "Ok." he said and then looked up as Daisy appeared at the entrance to the bathroom with a blanket.
"What wrong?" she asked again as she handed Jesse the blanket.
Jesse and Bo got the blanket around Luke before they answered
"Luke is sick. We are going to take him to the hospital." Jesse told her and then looked at Bo. "Go get some clothes on and i'll watch him.
Bo nodded and got up off the floor and ran to his room. As he got dressed Daisy and Jesse got Luke up and started walking im towards the door. Bo came out a few seconds later.
"Let me take him." Bo said
Daisy and Jesse let go off Luke and Bo picked him up and held him in his arms. Luke moaned softly.
"Shh." Bo said soothingly "Your going to be ok. Take it easy."  he added, but he could feel how hot is cousin was and could hear that he wasn't breathing to well either.
Bo quickly walked out of the house and over to the General. With help from Uncle Jesse and Daisy he managed to get Luke inside the car. After adjusting, the blanket around his cousin, he walked around the car and got inside.
"We will be behind you." Jesse told him "We just need to get dressed first."
"Alright." Bo said and started the car.
The drive to the hospital was probably the longest drive Bo had ever made. He kept glancing over at Luke to make sure he was still breathing. Bye the time Bo did make it to the hospital, Luke had already had one more convulsion and his breathing had worsened. He had also sounded like he was going to throw up a few times, but nothing ever came up except some blood and that made Bo drive even faster.

Once Bo got to the hospital, several doctors came and got Luke and then they whisked him away. As Bo tried to follow them, one told him to go wait in the waiting room and they would let him know. Bo reluctantly did as he was told and he went to the waiting room. Jesse and Daisy found him there a short time later.
"Any word?" Jesse asked
Bo looked up at his Uncle and shook his head "They took him back once we got here and told me to come and wait here." he finished, frustration clear in his voice.
Daisy sat down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder "How are you holding up?" she asked
Bo shrugged "Ok i guess." he said and then gave her a small smile "I just wish I knew what is making Luke so sick."
"He's going to be fine." Jesse told him as he also sat down. "He's a Duke."
Bo smiled, but didn't say anything.
About 20 minutes passed and then a doctor came into the waiting room and walked over to where they were sitting.
"Are ya'll the Duke Family?" the doctor asked as he came over to them.
All three looked up and Jesse got up to greet the doctor. "Yes." he said
The doctor nodded and stuck out his hand "I'm Doctor DeWitt." he said
"How is he doc?" Jesse asked after he shook his hand.
"In surgery at the moment. He has some internal bleeding." DeWitt told them
"Is he going to be ok?" Bo asked
DeWitt nodded at him "He's stable right now." he said and then added "I came out here for another reason. I need to ask ya'll a few questions. Please sit down."
Jesse sat back down and the doctor pulled a chair over to them and then sat down.
"What is it?" Bo asked, a frightened tone to his voice.
DeWitt smiled over at Bo in reassurance and then focused back on what he was going to say in the first place.  "What i need to know is what Luke has been doing the past 24 hours. What has he been exposed to."
Jesse frowned "What do you mean?" he asked
DeWitt sighed "The symptoms that Luke has are only caused by one thing and that's radiation poisoning. I need to know how he got exposed.
"Radiation?!" Daisy exclaimed
"I'm afraid so." DeWitt told her.
"The truck." Bo whispered suddenly.
"What was that son?" DeWitt asked him
Bo looked up at him and then took a deep breath and then told the doctor what had happened earlier the day before. The doctor didn't say anything, just listened and shook his head a few times.
"That's it then." he said after Bo finished. "And we may have a problem on our hands if that truck isn't found." he said and then got up. "I probably should go give the FBI a call and let them know, chances are they may already know." he add as he walked to the door. When he got there, he turned around "I'm going to ask a nurse to come by at take ya'll to go get checked out. Since you've been around Luke, we need to make sure you don't get sick either.
"But we feel fine." Bo told him
"I know, but just as a precaution." DeWitt told him "I'll got give the FBI a call and then check back on Luke. I'll come tell ya'll once he's out of the O.R and in a room."
Jesse thanked the doctor and then DeWitt was gone. A nurse came to get them a few minutes later and lead them back to an examination room to get checked over.

About an hour passed before Dr.DeWitt came back just as Daisy, the last one to be examined, was getting a shot to counteract any radiation sickness symptoms he might get.
"They check out fine." the nurse told DeWitt as he came in "I gave them all shots and they shouldn't have any problems with getting sick."
"Thank you Helen." DeWitt said smiling at her "Could you leave us alone please?" he asked
Helen nodded and left the room
"How is he doc?" Bo asked
DeWitt sighed "Its going to be touch and go for a couple of days. He's a very sick young man" he said "He's been put in Isolation and he will have to stay there for a couple of days. We gave him the same drug we gave you, Metodopramide, and are giving him blood. We are also feeding him intravenously so he won't get dehydrated and antibiotics to fight any infections and fever. There is also some swelling especially around the throat and we've had to put him on oxygen." He stopped for a moment to let that absorb in.
"Were you able to stop the internal bleeding?" Jesse asked
DeWitt nodded "Yes."
"Can we see him?" Bo asked
DeWitt thought for a second before he answered "You can see him, but i can't let ya'll go in there." he said and then added "Follow me."
DeWitt started walking out of the exam room and the Dukes followed behind him, not saying a word. They walked for a few minutes, and DeWitt stopped and turned around just before the entered the isolation part of the ICU.
"It's going to look alot worse than it is. He's in a coma so he won't be awake." he said and then added "He's through here."
He led them through the double doors and past a couple of rooms before he stopped at the third one down.
"You can see him through here." DeWitt told him gesturing to the window along the wall of the room.
The Family looked into the room and saw several people in blue suits in the room. Two were standing near Luke's bed checking things. One moved away and they caught a glimpse of Luke. He looked pale and small in the midst of all the wires and machines he was hooked up to.
Daisy gasped and put a hand over her mouth and turned away. Jesse put a hand on her shoulder and then she turned back around and hugged him. Bo continued to look through the window and then he looked at the doctor.
"How long before he will be out of danger?" he asked
"It will take a couple of days for all this  to get flushed out of his system. After that he should be fine." DeWitt told him and then added "He's young and he's strong, so he has a very good chance to make it through this."
Bo nodded and then turned back towards the window. He sighed.
DeWitt thought for a moment and then finally relented on what he had said earlier about not going in there.
"I'll let one of ya'll in there for 5 minutes, but that is all." he said to them
All three of them looked at each other. Bo opened his mouth to ask if he could go, but Jesse beat him to it
"Why don't you go." he said
Bo nodded
"Alright." DeWitt said "Your going to have to put one of those suits on before you can go in there. He reached over and pressed an intercom on the wall. "Hey Jack." he said and one of the blue suited men looked up at him.
"I'm going to let one of his family in." he said and the blue suited doctor nodded. DeWitt looked at Bo. "You can go in now." he said. "There's a little walkway before you get to the door that leads to the room. There are suits in there. Just put one on."
Bo nodded "Thanks." he said and then went inside.
DeWitt smiled and then turned to talk to Jesse.

After Bo walked in he soon found a suit and put it on. He found it was very hot and stuffy in there, but he guess he'd have to live with if he wanted to see Luke. He finished getting it on and walked to the door. One of the doctors saw him and waved him in and meet him when Bo came through the door.
"Hi." he said and stuck out his hand "I'm Jack."
Bo shook his hand "Bo." he said and then glanced over at his cousin.
Jack noticed and smiled at him "It looks a little worse than it is." he said "I'm sure Ned told you what all is going on." he stopped and went on when Bo nodded "Your cousin is very sick but we do think he will make it. Any type of radiation whether it's waste or what have you is very dangerous."
Bo nodded and Jack smiled again. "Sorry i was about to give a lecture." he said "You can see him."
Bo nodded and smiled his thanks and walked over to the bed. The other people around moved off a little to give him some privacy. He looked up for a second at the window and saw Uncle Jesse talking to the doctor. Daisy was looking at him and he waved slightly. Daisy smiled back at him and then went to brush tears away from her eyes. He looked back down at Luke and could feel tears of his own threaten as he looked at him. He felt responsible. "Is the swelling normal?" he asked referring to the swelling to Luke's face and throat.
Jack nodded as he came over "Yeah. That's whats restricting his breathing. It should go away with all the medicine and stuff were giving him." he said and then added "Talk to him. He's in a coma, but he may still be able to hear you." he stopped and then moved off, giving Bo some space.
Bo sighed and looked back down at Luke, more tears threatened but he held them back. He reached down and took one of Luke's hands in his his blue covered one.
"Luke." Bo said, his voice sounding echoy and raspy in the suit. "Jeez," he thought. "I sound like Darth Vader in this thing."
Luke made no movement
"Hey cousin." Bo said softly "It's me. I'm here." he stooped for a second "I'm so sorry about all this. If we had done something when it first happened then maybe you wouldn't be here. I'm so sorry, i feel like this is my fault." he stopped again for a moment, fighting tears. He knew he couldn't let him self cry. He had to be strong for Luke, but he felt so responsible and helpless at the same time.
"Bo." Jack told him. "I'm sorry but your time is almost up."
Bo looked at him and then nodded. He squeezed Luke's hand and then spoke to him again. "Luke, i'm going to have to go, but i want you to get well. I don't know what'd i do if you...." Bo broke off, unable to finish the sentence. "Just get well please. We're all thinking about you." he stopped again and then added much softer this time, more to himself than to anyone else "I swear i'll get these guys. They will pay for what happened to you."
Bo sighed and released Luke's hand after one last squeezed. He walked to the door and thanked Jack on his way out. Once he was in the airlock he took the suit off, put it in one of the disposal baskets and walked back out to his family. He noticed that Dr.DeWitt had left. He walked back over to where Jesse and Daisy were standing, running a hand through his limp hair.
"You ok?" Jesse asked,
Bo shook his head, not trusting his voice. "He just looks so...." he started, but shook his head and didn't finish his sentence as he glanced back into the room
"I know." Jesse said softly. "He'll pull through."
"This is my fault." Bo said looking down at the ground.
"No it's not Bo." Jesse told him. "Don't even think that. You could not have known this was going to happen."
Bo opened his mouth to protest, but thought better of it and shut it again. He nodded  "I want to get these guys." he said instead.
"Me to." Daisy said, wiping tears from her eyes again.
Jesse nodded "We will, but not now. It's not even daylight yet." he said and then added. "We should wait for the FBI to get here. Dr.DeWitt called them and they should be here in the morning." he stopped again "We aren't going to be able to go home either. Some hazardous waste disposal people are going to need to check over the house to make sure it's ok."
"Then were are we going to stay?" Bo asked
Jesse sighed. "I've called Cooter, he said we can stay there."
Bo nodded
"Come on." Jesse said. "Lets get out of here. Dr. DeWitt promised to phone if there was any change."
With a last glance in the room and to their sick family member, they left the hospital.

The next day came and the FBI deseded on Hazzard. Jesse had slept for a little while and then left Cooter's to go out to the farm to see if he couldn't help with the hazzardous waste disposal team and to catch the FBI guys if they came out to the farm first.
The bad guys were also up and planning out what they were going to do.
"How do you think we should get our message out?" Arnie asked Rick
"Your going to go find a phone booth and call the radio station and read this to them and tell that they are going to broadcast it." Rick told him pushing a note into his hand.
"Ok boss." Arnie said and then went over and got in the car and left their hideout.

Bo was in a light sleep when he felt a hand fall on his shoulder. He opened his eyes and looked up to see Daisy standing over him. He yawned and sat up.
"What time is it?" he asked running a hand through his hair
"A little after 9," she told him
"Have you called the hospital?" he asked sitting up
Daisy nodded "There's been no change." she told him.
"Where is Uncle Jesse?" Bo asked as he massaged his tight neck from all the stress of what was happening.
"Uncle Jesse went back to the farm to see if he couldn't help the hazzardous waste disposal team out. He's also waiting to see if they FBI shows up there."
"I think I should go too, those Feds are going to need help finding who did this."
 "Uncle Jesse said he would bring them over here. I think they probably would want to talk to you anyway." Daisy told him and then smiled. "You can tell them then that you want to help."
Bo sighed and thought about Luke. The sickly color of his face and how swollen it was. "I don't care if they let me or not Daisy. I'll do it with out without them knowing about it."
Daisy laughed a little. "Knowing you, i'm sure you will. Just be careful ok." she said. "Besides they are big city folks, they don't know their way around Hazzard which means they will need a Hazzard citizen."
"That's exactly what I'm counting on, that and the fact that it was Luke and me that met up with those guys."
Daisy patted his knee. "Yeah i know. Like i said, be careful. I don't want you in the hospital either." she said and changed the subject. "I cooked some breakfast. Would you like any?"
Bo shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know I ain't really hungry."
Daisy held out her hand. "Come on. You really need to eat. If your going to help catch these guys, your going to need your strength."
 Bo shook his head, knowing it was pointless to argue with Daisy, he took her hand and she hauled him to his feet.
Both of them walked over to table in Cooter's kitchen and Bo sat down. Daisy served their plates, then came over and put one in front of the place she was going to sit down in and then one in front of Bo.
"Thanks." Bo said and started eating a little.
Daisy nodded and started eating as well.
A few minutes went by without much conversation and then their uncles voice came over the CB.
Bo turned around and picked up the mike. "You got one Lost Sheep. Go ahead Shepard."
"Bo, do you have the radio on?" Jesse asked.
"No, why?" Bo asked
"Turn it on, you will want to here this." Jesse said.
Bo frowned and then looked for the radio.
"I see it. I'll get it." Daisy said and got up and went over to the radio and turned it on.
"Repeating our earlier broadcast, two men have called into this station and have stated that if 10 million in small bills is not put into two garbage bags and deposited in the trash can at the Hazzad Junkyard by noon tomorrow, a barrel of toxic waste will be dumped into Hazzard County's water supply...."
"Oh dear." Daisy said
Bo was in mid swallow and he started coughing as his breakfast went down the wrong tube. He had a sip of his juice and pressed the button on the CB mike. "We heard it uncle Jesse."
"Yeah and so did all of Hazzard. No telling what J.D's going to do." Jesse said and sighed. "I'm coming back over there and i'm bringing two FBI agents with me. I'll be there in a few minutes. This is Shepard, out."
 "The channel is clear." Bo said as he set the mike down. He looked down at his plate and made a face. He pushed the plate away from him. "I don't think I want anymore Daisy."
Daisy nodded and looked at her own food. "Yeah i don't think i want to eat anymore either." she said and picked up both plates and got up. "This situation just went from bad to worse."

About 15 minutes later Jesse pulled up at Cooters farm. He turned the ignition and got out. He looked back at the FBI agents in the car behind him, they were getting out of their car as well.
"This way." Jesse said and lead them to the door. "Kids." he called out as he got to the door and opened it.
"Hey Uncle Jesse." Daisy said as her Uncle and the FBI men walked in.
Bo just looked at the FBI agents.
Jesse turned to look at the agents. "This is agents Jerry McConnell and Perry Reed."
Bo looked over the men for a moment. The one called McConnell was tall and slim and looked like he was probably the leader of the two. He also looked like he was all business. Perry, was a little shorter and seemed to be a little bit more nicer than the other, but Bo couldn't be sure at the moment until they spoke.
"Why don't ya'll have a seat." Jesse said "Would either of you like something to drink.
"No thanks." McConnell said as he sat down in a nearby chair
"Not right now, thank you." Perry said as he sat down to.
McConnell cleared his throat and looked at Bo. "Bo, right?"
"Right." Bo said rather simlpy.
 "How is your cousin doing?" McConnell asked
 "How did you know about that? He's very sick." Bo replied, rather surprised they knew about Luke.
 We were briefed on what happened before we came down here and i have talked with your uncle." McConnell answered.
 Bo frowned. "So you know Luke has radiation sickness?"
McConnell nodded his head. "Yes I do." he said and then paused for a moment. "Bo, can you give me a summary of what happened? I need to know."
"Well Luke and me was driving along and there was this truck parked. We weren't sure if they needed help so we went over to talk to them. These guys were there and we jsuet got into this fight with them and Luke somehow got some of that stuff on him."
 "Ok." McConnell said. "Then what happened? Did they leave after the fight?"
"Yes, we were winning the fight and they took off in their truck and Luke and I went home. He seemed fine."
"Thats what usually happens." McConnell commented. "Did you see which way they went?"
Bo shook his head. "No we didn't, they took off to fast."
McConnell grunted. "Well we know they are still probalby in Hazzard, but the question is where."
"We're going to have to deal with their ransom at some point to Jerry." Perry told him.
McConnell looked at his partner. "Yes i know that."
"You are going to need someone to show you around, I want to volunteer."
McConnell looked at Bo and shook his head. "Sorry kid. This is for the FBI to solve. We don't need civilians in the way."
Bo shook his head, getting angry. "You need me, no one in Hazzard is crazy enough to help you and I saw what they look like.
"You can tell us what they look like." McConnell told him. "I know you could probably help us but it would best if you didn't. Thanks for the offer though."
"I'm not telling you anything unless you let me help you. Because of those four, my cousin could die, I'm helping whether you approve or not."
"Mr McConnell." Daisy spoke up for the first time since the agents had come in. "I think you better let Bo help you. He's telling you the truth. He'll do it even you don't let him."
McConnell sighed. "Ok," he relented. "But you do what we say. I don't want you running off by yourself trying to get revenge and wind up getting hurt."
 "I won't, I just want to find them."
McConnell nodded. "Ok, so who should we talk to first about the ransom. We may have to give it to them so we can follow them back to their hideout and then get them there."
"That would probably be J.D. Hogg. He runs this town." Jesse spoke up.
"Alright. Lets go see him then and then we can talk about what we are going to do."

The three Dukes and the two FBI agents left Cooters farm and drove into town. They arrived in front of the courthouse a few minutes later.
"J.D. is probably here." Jesse said as they got out of their repective cars. "Come on."
They walked up the steps leading to the courthouse and inside. Then they walked in the sheriff department and were met by Rosco.
Rosco looked up from what he was doing "What are you doing here Jesse Duke? We ain't got time for your pitily little problems."
Jesse snorted. "Yeah well. Our problem is the same as the towns problem. Is J.D. in his office?"
Rosco frowned and gestured to Boss' office. "He's in there if you want to see him but I don't think he's going to want to see the likes of you."
Bo scoffed and shook his head. "Oh sure Rosco ask Luke if he wants Uncle Jesse to see Boss or ask the people that are going to get sick from the poison water." He mumbled as they walked to Boss' office.
Jesse didn't bother knocking on the office door, he just walked in. Everyone else followed him into the room
Boss looked up, surprised, from the sandwhich he was eating. "Jesse Duke. What is the meaning of this."
Jesse sighed. "Calm down J.D." he said. "We're here about that radio broadcast earier."
"What about it." J.D. snapped. "Personally i think its just someone pulling a joke."
"Its no joke J.D. Its for real." Jesse told him
Bo was frowning and his lips were pressed together. "Yeah ask Luke if it is a joke Boss."
"Whats wrong with Luke?" J.D. asked just know noticing that the other duke boy wasn't present.
"He has radiation sickness Boss, he could die." Bo said flatly trying not to show his emotions
"What?" Boss Hogg exclaimed.
"The boy is right Mr. Hogg." McConnell put in.
J.D. looked at both feds. "And who are you?"
McConnell took out his badge and showed it to J.D. "I'm Agent McConnel and this is Agent Reed. We're here to investigate this problem and catch the bad guys before your water supply is poisoned. One person is already sick, we don't want any more to get sick. Your going to have to cooperate with us."
 
The Duke family and the two agents walked out of the Police Station about an hour later. They had gotten a promise from Boss that he would help and he said that he would get on the ransom just as soon as possible.
"I hope Boss does what he says hes going to do." Daisy said as they walked down the steps of the courthouse
"He ain't got a choice now that the Feds are involved." Jesse said
"Mr Duke is right. " Agent McConnell spoke up. "He doesnt have a choice. Hes going to have to help us or be charged with obstruction of justice."
 Bo was standing there, not really listening too intently on the words that were being spoken. His arms were crossed over his chest and his face was somber and serious. "I think we should see how Luke is doing."
Jesse looked at his nephew and saw how less than happy he was. "Yeah good idea Bo...I'm sure he's getting better."
McConnell broke in before Bo could answer his uncle. "I really think we should go looking for these guys. It would be better if we can catch them before the ransom is due. I'm sure your cousin is fine."
Bo looked up slowly at the G man that had opened his big mouth. He raised an eyebrow at him and frowned. "Oh sure after all what's more important? My cousin's life or some criminals? It's plain to see the answer to that." Bo said as he walked away to cool down.
Daisy scowled the Federal agent that had made light of her cousin's health and ran after Bo, who was walking up the block.
"Bo wait!" She said as she touched his shoulder and turned him around.
He was frowning still and his anger seemed to be less. "I need to be alone right now Daisy."
Daisy shook her head as she squeezed his shoulder. "No...we gotta stick together Bo. It ain't just you going through this it's all of us."
 "How could he say that? Talk like Luke has a skinned knee instead of being full of that poison?"
"He didn't mean to make light of it Bo, I'm sure he didn't. He wants to catch these guys as bad as you do. Come on." Daisy said as she tugged at his arm. Bo looked at her and exhaled loudly as he followed her back over to the two agents and his Uncle.
McConnell cracked a small smile at the two cousins as they came walking back over. "I'm sorry." he said, even though it didn't sound like he meant it. "You can go see your cousin, but then i'm going to want your help in finding these guys. Deal?"
Bo looked at him and nodded his head as the two men shook hands. "Deal."

After everyone piled into their cars, they took off towards the hospital. They arrived at Tri County Hospital about 10 minutes later. As the Dukes got out of their cars, the agents got out as well and acted as if they were going to go in also.
The three Dukes stopped and looked at the agents curiously.
 "And where are you two going?" Bo asked.
"Inside with you." McConnell said simply
"Oh? And what for?" Bo said crossing his arms over his chest although he knew the answer they were going to say.
 "I'm just as interested as you are in  your cousin's condition." McConnell said frowing at the boy.
"Because....." Bo said making gestures for him to continue speaking.
"Because i want to know." McConnell told him, not giving in.
 Bo nodded his head and turned to look at his Uncle. "Do you buy that Uncle Jesse?"
"No, I sure don't." Jesse said flatly. "If you two think you are going to question my boy you better think again."
 McConnell grumbled and glared at Bo, then looked at Jesse. "Look Mr. Duke. If Luke is awake then I need to question him, see what he knows. If hes not then fine."
"And you won't try and wake him up if he isn't?" Daisy asked.
McConnell nodded. "I promise i won't."
"Do you both give your word on that?" Bo said, not wanting them to go in.
"Jerry." Agent Reed broke in. "I think we should just stay out here. I don't think the kid is going to be awake, so there is no point in going in."
 McConnell grumbled again and then waved a hand in the air. "Alrgiht. We will stay out here, but don't be to long. We have to find these guys."
Bo walked over to the feds car and reached inside, he took out their keys and tossed them once in the air before depositing them in his pocket. "Just a little insurance to make sure you both don't get any ideas about leaving me behind." He said with a coy smile as he and his family went inside to see Luke.
"Hey!" McConnell called out as they walked inside. "Bring those keys back!"
Reed was laughing softly beside him. "That kid has guts you know."
"Oh shut up." McConnell growled
 Bo turned around and faced the two agents and tapped his left jean pocket as the elevator opened and Daisy and Jesse stepped inside. "Sorry boys...see ya in a bit!" He said as he slipped into the closing elevator doors.

A few minutes later, the elevator stopped at the floor Luke was on and the doors opened. All three Dukes walked out into the hall and turned down the corridor that Luke's room was in. They walked through the double doors of the ICU and continued on down the hall. They saw Dr. DeWitt at the nurses station as they approached. He happened to look up at that moment and see them and met them halfway.
"How is he doc?" Jesse asked.
"Well Mr. Duke, your nephew is still the same as he was yesterday. But he has stabilized some so the good news is that the danger from the radiation has diminished greatly so the suits are no longer necessary and I really feel that he won't get any worse."
Jesse breathed a sigh of relief. "Thats good." he said. "Has he woken up yet?"
"I'm afraid not, you see with exposure like this-"
A loud alarm starting going off as the monitor at the nurse's station started beeping loudly.
 Doctor De Witt went over to it and saw the monitor marked DUKE, L , written in black marker on a piece of duck tape, was beeping and the line that normally showed a heart rate was flat. He grabbed the phone and pressed the zero.
"Code Blue in ICU!" He said into the phone as a parade of nurses and orderlies came racing down the hall with a cart. The doors were thrown open and they all started swarming around Luke like bees.
"Whats going on!" Daisy shouted.
"Luke!" Bo said and started over to the room, but Jesse put a hand on his arm to restrain him and shook his head. "But Uncle Jesse.."
 "Let them do their jobs son." Jesse said keeping his hand on his nephew's arm.
 Doctor De Witt went inside the room and the Dukes watched as Luke was being worked on.
 "I don't understand." Daisy said as she watched the flurry of movement. "The doctor jsut said that he was stable."
 "I know he did Baby, I don't understand either." Jesse said as he recognized the loud thumping sound of his nephew getting his heart zapped.
The sound suddenly stopped and the three Dukes were relieved to heart Luke's heart monitor at the nurse's station once again sound off the steady rhythm of Luke's heart.
All three Dukes breathed a sigh of relief.
"They got him back." Bo said in relief.
"Thank God." Jesse said
Doctor De Witt came out of the room and wiped his face with a handkerchief. He saw the Dukes and he went over to them. "He's fine..."
Bo frowned at the doctor. "Fine, thats what you just said before he went flatline" he accused. "What happened?! You said he was stable, why did his heart just stop."
"Bo, it is not that uncommon for this to happen. Your cousin's body was exposed to a deadly poison and sometimes the body can react in unexpected ways." He put the handkerchief away and turned to look at Luke through the window. "Like how you just saw."
 Bo sighed, his anger abaiting some. "I'm sorry doc."
"It's all right Bo I understand. At least Luke has proven that he has enough to keep fighting."
"We Dukes aren't quitters." Bo said, cracking a smile. "Will he be alright now?"
"Yes, he is fine, and I am going to make sure he stays that way.'
"Can we see him?" Bo asked
"Well, normally I would say no, but after what happened...you can all go in there for 5 minutes."
"Thanks doc. " Bo said and followed his family into the room.
  All three gathered around Lukes bed. He had not changed much since the night before, he still looked pale and his face was still swollen.
Bo leaned down close to Lukes ear, he hoped his cousin could hear him even though he was still in the coma. "Don't do that to me again cousin, you just aged me 10 years."
Daisy nodded her head as she looked down at her cousin. "He aged us all 10 years Bo..." She said softly.
Jesse reached out and stroked Luke's hair gently. "We want you to get well soon. We all miss you." he told his nephew softly.
Bo reached down and took Lukes hand in his. "You heard Uncle Jesse, Luke. We want you to wake up real soon."

Their time was up a few moments later and the Dukes had to leave. They walked back out of the hospital and found the Federal agents by their car. Agent Reed was sitting on top of the hood and McConnell was leaning on the car, arms folded, looking none to pleased. He looked up and saw them coming down the steps to the hospital.
"About time." he said gruffly.
Bo saw them and he couldn't help but smirk. He knew the two men were waiting for his their keys and he kept right on walking past them.
"And where do you think your going?"
"To the farm..."
McConnell frowned. "That wasnt the deal." he said. "We agreed that you could see your cousin and then we would go look for these guys...Now give me my keys and get in the car and lets go."
Bo stopped walking and put his hands on his hips. "We need to look at some maps boys so get in your car and follow us to the farm."
"Hes right Jerry." Reed told him. "We don't know the layout of this town or where to start looking, so  it would probably be best if we looked at some maps."
McConnell glared at his partner for a moment "Fine." he grumbled and then held out his hand. "Give me my damn keys first."
Bo shook his head. "Sorry can't do that.. if I give you the keys then you two will get cocky and leave me behind. No I'll hold onto them until after we look at the maps at Cooter's farm."
 "Kid, your really testing my patience." McConnell grunted. "How are we supposed to get out there if you won't give me the keys back?
"Well you see boys there are two thick wires under your steering wheel, a red one and a green one, mash them two together and your car will start..." He stopped and grinned at them widely. "See you both at Cooter's." He said as he walked away
"I'll get you for this kiddo." McConnell growled as he went over to the drivers side of their car and opened the door. He slid in behind the wheel and his partner got in on the passenger side. Both Jesses truck and the General started up as McConnell started looking at the steering wheel. He found the wires and withing minutes he had the car running. He grumbled as he took the car out of park and followed the Dukes towards Cooters Farm.

Back at the Hazzard Water Works, Arnie, Brad, Harry and Rick were waiting around for the deadline.
"I think we should have moved it up so we can get out of here quicker." Harry said.
Rick shook his head. "Calm down Harry, we need to give these people some time. We will get out of here soon. Don't worry."
"Hey boss." Arnie pipped up. "I just thought of this. What are we going to do about those two hicks that tried to stop us yesterday?"
 "Nothing...we ain't dooing nothing to jeopardize our money." Rick said, sneering at his less than bright cohort.
"Well if i remember correctly Boss, one of those rubes crashed into that leaky barrel. I bet he aint holding up too good about now."
Everyone laughed and sat back to wait for the time when they could get out of Hazzard

When the Dukes and the Federal Agents had gotten back to Cooters farm Bo kept his promise and gave McConnell his keys. After going inside, the Dukes had found all the maps Cooter owned and spread them out on the kitchen table and were looking at them. The FBI men were looking over their shoulder
 "So where do you think the best place would be for finding them?" McConnell asked
"Well me and Luke met up with them here, on the road back to town." Bo said as he pointed it out on the map. "There are plenty of old Indian Caves back down this road and there is Razorback Mountain."
"Hmph." McConnell commented. "Why don't we start with the caves first and then go from there."
Those Indian Caves stretch on for miles it may be better if you boy split up. I got a couple of lender cars at my garage if you need them." Cooter said showing them on the map how far the caves went.
"Thanks Cooter but the General will be just fine." Bo said as he folded up the map.
McConnell shook his head. "No it would stick out to much, its best to use a car that they won't find suspicious." he said. "Besides they saw that car when ya'll fought them so they know what it looks like."
Bo wanted to protest but then he realized that McConnell was right."Well I guess I will be taking you up on your offer for a loaner car after all Cooter."
"Lets get going then." McConnell said.
"Mr. McConnell." Daisy said. "What will we do if we don't find them.
McConnell looked at her. "Well, if we don't find them before the drop then after the stuff is dropped, we tail them back to their hideout and get them then." he said. "Oh and remind me to talk to Boss Hogg to see if hes getting the money."

Everyone left Cooters farm and split up to go search the Indian Caves. Jesse told them as they left that if they needed to talk over the CB and just in case the bad guys where listeing in, they should use channel 18.
After about 2 hours of searching, no one was coming up with anything and they were all getting irritable.
Bo came out of the southern group of Indian caves and went over to the brown sedan that Cooter had loaned him He poked his head inside and picked up the CB mike.
"This is G-man 3 to G-men one and two, come in."
McConnell heard Bo calling him and his partner over the CB and he walked over to the car. Opening the door he sat down in the passenger seat and picked up the CB. "This is G one. Over."
"How's the search going for you two?"
"Haven't found a thing G 3. How about you?"
"Ditto...how about we move north?"
"Roger that. Radio us if you find anything. G 3 out." McConnell said and set the CB back down. He got out of the passenger side and called for Reed. Then both agents got in the car and moved north to move caves.
Bo changed the CB back to channel 9 and pressed the button. "Shepherd and Bo Peep this is Lost Sheep #2, ya got your ears on, come back?"
Uncle Jesse heard his nephew calling and he picked up the CB. "You got the shepard, lost sheep. Come back."
"Hey Uncle Jesse I just called to let you all know that we are moving the search north."
"Roger that. So i guess you haven't found anything on your end?"
"No Sir, not a thing, but we ain't giving up yet. Have you called the hospital to see how Luke is?"
Jesse sighed. "Yeah i did. Doc says hes the same."
"All right Uncle Jesse, I'll give you all a call again later."
"Roger. This is Shepard, out."
"This is Bo Peep, i got all that. I'm moving further north as well. Out." Daisy said over the CB.
"This is Lost Sheep #2, I'm clear." Bo said as he hung up the CB mike and started the loaner car.

Everyone moved the search further north and continued to look. After about three hours had gone bye they still had found nothing.
Bo came out of the deepest caves, he was frustrated that there was absolutely no sign of them and he kicked the tire of Cooter's loaner car angrily.
He ran his fingers through his hair as he picked up the CB "Uncle Jesse, this is Bo, come in if you are listening.'
"This is Jesse. Whats the problem?"
"The problem is that I haven't found any sign of those guys.'
"Yeah i haven't found any sign of them either." Jesse told him
"This is Bo Peep, i haven't come up with a thing either. Whats our next move?"
 "I think we better keep looking ya'll, we only got til tomorrow noon. I'm going to start checking out the abandon farms and stuff between here and Razorback Mountain." Cooter's voice suddenly came in over the air waves.
"Well we only got about maybe an hour til the sun sets so let's make use of the light and keep looking. When it gets dark we'll all meet back at your farm Cooter." Bo said
"Roger that." Jesse said. "This is Shepard, out."
"Ditto." Daisy said
"This is Lost Sheep #2, I'm clear." Bo said as he swtiched it back to the other channel to repeat the message to the two feds.

About an hour later, the sun went down, preventing them from searching any more that day. They all went back to Cooters farm and discussed what they should do the following day before the drop. After they talked through things, McConnell called Boss Hogg to check on how things were going with getting the money. Boss told him that he pretty much had it all together and would have it all bye morning and would be able to make the drop. After the agent got off the phone, he and Reed said their goodbyes and left the farm. The Dukes and Cooter then ate dinner, none of them really touching their food much and aside from a few attempts at conversation, noone really said much. Shortly after dinner, they all turned in.
Bo tossed and turned in one of the twin beds that Cooter had in his guest room. He tried to get comfortable, but it was no use. He kicked his covers off and got out of bed. He grabbed a shirt and went out onto the front porch. He sat down in one of Cooter's wicker chairs and breathed in the night air. He couldn't help but wonder how Luke was doing.
The screen door opened and Cooter came outside. "Hey," he said
Bo gasped, startled by the sudden appearance of his friend. "Hey Cooter.."
"Sorry about that Bo, didn't mean to scare you." Cooter apoligized as he sat down in another chair. "So, whats up?"
Bo shrugged his shoulders. "Oh nothing much...just can't sleep."
Cooter sighed and scratched his head. "Your worried about Luke." he said. "Want to talk about it?"
Bo sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Yeah I am. Did Uncle Jesse or Daisy tell you what happened at the hospital today?"
Cooter frowned. "No they didn't."
"Well...Luke's heart stopped, they had to zap him to bring him back." There was a hint of pent up emotion in his voice that he quickly got rid of.
"Oh lord." Cooter breathed. "What did the doctor say after they got him back? I mean is he getting worse or what?"
"He said he was getting better and that it was common for that to happen."
"Thats good...I guess." Cooter said. "Well you know Luke, he's pretty tough. He'll make it through this just fine."
"I don't know Cooter, you ain't seen him.He's all puffy like he's got marshmallows in his cheeks and he is this awful sick color."
Cooter got the sudden image in his head of what Bo was describing and quickly shook it off. He sighed. "I'm sure hes going to be fine Bo. Just give him some time."
"I just cant stop thinking about whats going to happen if we cant find those guys."
"Yeah i hear ya on that one." Cooter said. "We're just going to have to find them, its that simple."
"I know, but I bet if the situation was reverse, Luke would be strong and confident."
"You seem to be doing fine to me." Cooter told him.
Bo shook his head and sighed. "Not really Cooter."
"Aww come on." Cooter said. "Your not giving yourself enough credit."
"Maybe...I just wish this was all a dream."
Cooter sighed "Well it ain't." he said getting right down to the matter, hoping Bo would forgive him for being so blunt. "Bo, seriously. Yes Luke can be confident and all that, but you can be that way to. Just trust yourself and you will do the right thing. We will catch these guys, don't worry."
"I know we will Cooter... we have to for Luke's sake as well as the rest of Hazzard."
"There you go." Cooter said as he stood up. "Now why don't you try and get some sleep otherwise you wont' be any good to anybody if your dead on your feet."
"All right." Bo said as he got up, he went to open the door when he turned around and looked at his friend. "Thanks a lot Cooter." He said before going back inside the house.
"Your welcome." Cooter said and then followed Bo inside.

Morning came all to quickly. The Dukes and Cooter were up with the sunrise and as they were eating breakfast, McConnell and Reed showed up.
"Where are we going to search this morning?" McConnell asked as he came inside. "Remember we only have till noon. I called Boss Hogg again, a little while ago. He says he has all the money and will be sending Sheriff Coltrane out to the junkyard at noon to drop it."
"Maybe we should search the areas closer to the junkyard." Bo said looking at the map to see where someone could hide in that area.
"Whats out that way?" Reed asked, looked at the map.
 "Some empty farms and houses mostly."
"Good hiding places then." McConnell said. "Alright, times wasting. Lets get going. Remember to radio if anyone finds anything and if you think you might have found them, don't go in till back up gets there."
Bo nodded his head although if he did come across them, he would not wait.

As everyone left Cooters farm to go out on search again, at the hospital Dr. DeWitt was checking on Luke, to see how he was doing.
Dr. De Witt took Luke's vital signs and he smiled with approval to see they were improving. He was also pleased to see that the swelling in Luke's face had gone down a lot and he called one of the nurse's in to remove his breathing tube.
"Well Luke I think you are going to come out of this okay."

Around noon time, Rick and the rest of his group were getting ready to go pick up the money.
"Ok, guys." Rick said as Arnie, Harry and Brad gathered around him. "I want Arnie and Brad to stay here while Harry and I go to the junkyard and get our money."
All three guys nodded.
"What shall we do with the busted barrel boss?" Brad asked.
"Wait until i get back and then we'll worry about it." Rick told him. "I want to make sure this pick up goes smoothly first before I do anything."
"Alright." Brad said.
"We'll be back in a little while." Rick said as he and Harry got in the car and drove away from the water works.

As noon approached, the Dukes, Cooter and the two Federal agents abandoned their search after finding nothing and went to the junkyard. Once they got there, they found good hideplaces that gave them a view of the junkyard, yet at the same time kept them well hiden. Their cars were nearby so when the bad guys did show up they could quickly get in them and go after them.
At noon, Rosco left his patrol car with both garabage bags of money and walked over to the dumpster. After looking around, he put both of them inside and then walked back to his car, got inside and then left.
A short time later, a car came down the road and stopped. One man got out and walked over to the dumpster. As he got the bags, his partner turned the car around. After a moment, the other guy walked back over to the car with the money and opened the backdoor and put the bags inside. He then closed the door and got in himself and the car drove away.
"Lets go people." McConnell said. "But dont' get to close, I dont' want them to know we're there."
Bo jumped into his loaner car and took off after the bad guys, trying to catch up to them.
McConnell saw this and he picked up the CB."Bo, this is Agent McConnell. Back off, i repeat back off before they spot you."
"I am not going to let them get away, not after all they've done. They won't spot me." Bo answered back into his CB mike.
As McConnell was about to respond, he caught sight of a police car coming down the road on the other said. "Oh no." he said. "Thats the last thing we need."
The police car first past the bad guys, who tried to act as if nothing was wrong and then it past the Dukes, Cooter and the two FBI agents. Enos, who was driving, saw them and picked up the CB. "Hey ya'll. What's going on?"
Bo saw Enos and grabbed the CB Mike. "Enos what are you doing?" He said realizing that the Deputy's appearance could ruin everything.
Enos frowned a little. "Why?"
"Cause you are about to let those bad guys know we are following them!" Bo said angry as the bad guys' car suddenly took off.
McConnell sighed "I think they know we're behind them now. No telling what there going to do."
"Yeah well we gotta find them! I'm putting the hammer down and going after them." Bo said as he put the mike down and slammed on the gas.
"Hey, what's going on?" Enos asked, confused
"It's a long story Enos we ain't got time to tell you now." Daisy said into her CB mike.
Enos decided that he would follow them to see what this was all about and to see if they might need any help. He slammed on the breaks and did a complete 180 and started following the caravan.

Rick looked back over his shoulder to see if they were still being followed, and sure enough they were. He sighed and picked up the CB.
 "This is Money Collector to homebase, anyone got their ears on?"
"This is Arnie, go ahead boss. Did you get the money?"
"Yeah, we got the money, but we also have several people following us including a cop. I want you to take the leaky barrel and put it near the water. Don't do anything yet, wait until i get there. We should be there in a few minutes."
"Roger that. I'm gone."
Rick turned to Harry. "Step on it." he ordered.

Jesse was the next to the last car in the caravan and he noticed the scenery. He realized where they were heading and he picked up the mike. "Lost Sheep #2, this is Shephard.. come back."
"This LS2, go ahead Shephard."
"Bo do you notice where we are, over."
Bo frowned and glanced at the scenerary. After a moment it dawned on him where they were heading. "Yeah, were heading towards the Hazzard County Water Works." he said into the CB.
"Right but remember there is a short cut at the next bend, Dickson Detour remember?"
"Yeah i remember." Bo said and then addressed everyone else. "Alright, folks. Just follow me, this detour should get us there quicker. I'm gone."
Bo put the CB down and prayed they could get there before the bad guys could do anything

When Rick looked behind him again, no one was following them. He frowned and turned back to look out the windshield.
"They aren't there anymore." he said.
"They must have decided to break it off." Harry said.
"I doubt it." Rick said "They probably are taking a shortcut or something. Push the pedal to the floor, we have to get to the hideout before they do."
"You got it." Harry said and pushed the pedal the rest of the way down to the floor.

Bo rounded the around the dirt road and saw the Hazzard Water Works coming up fast. He looked to the right and saw the bad guys car approaching just as quickly. "Hey y'all, we are almost there." He said into the CB
"Yeah and so are they." Daisy said
"We have to stop them any way we can." McConnell said
The two roads converged at the Water Works and Bo slammed on the breaks just in front of the bad guys car, making Harry have to slam on his breaks. Everyone else in the caravan stopped as well.
Bo got out of his car fast and ran over the Rick and Harry. "All right get out of that car NOW!" He said angrily as he opened Rick's door.
"And what if i don't?" Rick challenged
Bo grabbed Rick by the collar and hauled him out of the car. "Then you are in deep trouble...and if my cousin dies because of your poison then there won't be anyplace for you to hide from me."
"I suggest you get your hands off me, plowboy." he said and glanced towards the reservoir. He saw Arnie and Brad with the barrell. "And i think you should take a look over bye the reservoir."
Bo kept a firm grip on Rick's collar as he saw the other two goons holding a barrel, they smiled at him as they started to tilt it towards the water supply.
"Don't! A lot of people are going to die if you do that!" He shouted to them before turning back to Rick.
"Not my problem." Rick told him. "I suggest you let me go, otherwise if you don't, then they will put in the water supply."
"I don't think you want that many lives on your hands kid." Rick said, taunting him. "So, whats it going to be? Huh?"
Rick hard turned his back to his friends, so full of confidence that he felt that he no longer needed to watch them. Bo sighed and caught a glimpse of the two Feds, Jesse and Daisy sneaking up behind Rick's cohorts. He wanted to smile, but he didnt want Rick to be wise to what was about to happen
"I guess I got no choice." Bo said, releasing Rick's collar. "You win."
"Now thats a good boy." Rick sneered

The two FBI agents, Jesse and Daisy had reached the resovior where the two men and the leaky barrel where. McConnell and Reed both drew their guns and pointed them towards Arnie and Brad.
McConnell cleared his throat. "I suggest ya'll freeze and put your hands in the air"
Arnie and Brad looked up surprised and then made a break for the barrell but McConnell stopped them.
"I dont' think so," he said. "Make another move and the both of you are going to get shot. Now put your hands in the air and back away, slowly."
Both men did as they were told but Brad shouted to Rick "Rick!!!! They go us!! Get out of here!"

Rick turned around to see what was happening and he turned back and ran into Bo's fist, slamming into his jaw and sending him down to the ground. Bo grabbed his collar and drew back. "This is for Luke." He sat as he hit Rick in the jaw again.
Bo didn't see Harry get out of the car and come around to help out his boss. He jumped onto Bo's back, taking them both down.  "We should have killed you when we had the chance." Harry said as he landed a blow to Bo's jaw
Bo fell back against the ground as his jaw screamed in pain. Harry grabbed him by the collar, about to hit him again when Bo brought his fist up instead and hit Harry in the gut. He dropped Bo back to the ground and Bo rolled over quick and tackled him.
Rick was already back on his feet. He pulled his gun from the back pocket of his jeans and pushed it into Bo's back. "Alright hayseed, thats enough. Now stand up, nice and easy like or you'll have a nice hole in you."
Rick felt a cold metal object being pressed into his neck and he heard the unmistakeable sound of a hammer being pulled back. "You just hold it right there." Deputy Enos Strait said as he swallowed hard, but his hand was steady as a rock. "Now give me that gun."
Rick hesitated for a moment, then took the gun away from Bo's back and opened his hand, letting it fall to the ground.
Enos sighed in relief and got out his handcuffs. "Now turn around slowly."
Rick did as he was told. He turned and held out his hands
Enos handcuffed him and took his arm and went to the water works where the two Feds were.
"Here you go... the leader of the bunch."
Bo grabbed Harry by the collar and marched him over to the feds as well. "You forgot this one."
McConnell looked at both Rick and Harry. "You and those other two are going to spending alot of time in jail." he said and looked at both Enos and Bo. "Put them in my car."
"You got it ..." Bo said as he and Enos escorted the two hoodlums to the Feds car.

Once Arnie and Brad were put in the car as well, the Dukes and Enos helped escort them back to the Hazzard County jail, where they would sit until both McConnell and Reed could get them back to Atlanta. Everyone sighed with relief when the jail doors were closed and locked.
McConnell turned to the Duke Family and smiled. "I want to thank you folks for your help."
"Welcome..." Bo said as he shook his hand and turned to Jesse."Can we go to the hospiral now?"
Uncle Jesse shook hands with the agent as well and then nodded his head at his nephew. "Yeah, lets go." he said

The Dukes and Cooter left the jail and drove to the hospital. They parked their cars, walked into the hospital and got into the elevator and rode up to the floor Luke was on. Once the elevator stopped, they got out and walked down the hall.
Dr. DeWitt was just stepping out of a room when they were coming in and he saw them as he looked up. "Good afternoon." he greeted with a smile
"Good afternoon, how's Luke?" Bo asked, praying he had good news.
Doctor De Witt smiled widely. "He's a lot better.. and he wants to see you all."
"You mean hes awake?" Jesse asked
"Yes sir, he woke up this morning... you may go see him."
They thanked the doctor and went to Lukes room and went in. Luke had been taken off the respirator and was breathing on his own. The radiation had been pretty much completely flushed from his system and his skin was almost back to his healthy hue. The terrible swelling was gone and he was sleeping peacefully.
"He looks better." Daisy said. "Should we wake him?"
"It is hard to get some decent sleep around here." A weak little voice rang out and Luke's eyelids very slowly opened.
The Dukes and Cooter gathered around Luke's bed.
"How ya feelin' buddy?" Cooter asked
Luke closed his eyes briefly. "Okay considering what happened to me... not that I remember much of it."
"What do you remember cousin?" Bo asked
"I remember getting sick in the bathroom and you taking me in the General, that's all."
Bo grinned. "Well alot has happened since then." he said
Luke looked at him curiously. "Like what? And what happened to your face?" He asked, seeing the mark on his jaw.
Bo touched his jaw and then grinned again. "The short story is we caught who did this and this is a present from one of them."
Luke chuckled softly. "From them to you or your face to them?"
Bo shrugged. "Well they got what was coming to them." he said. "They are in jail now and Hazzard doensn't have to worry about the water making them sick."
"So I'm the only one that had the wonderful experience of getting sick from all of this?"
"Luckily you were the only one yes." Jesse told him. "Did the doctor tell you what made you sick?"
"He said it was from exposure to low doses of radiation." Luke paused to look at his cousin. "I guess that stuff I got on me when we fought those guys is what did it."
Bo nodded.
Daisy leaned over her cousin and stroked his hair. "Well at least you are all right honey, that's what had us so worried."
"Well the doc said I could go home probably tomorrow as long as I get lots of rest." Luke said as he smiled at his cousin.
Bo snickered. "I promise to leave you alone." he said
Luke looked at his grinning cousin and shook his head."I'd like to have that in writing."
"Sure," Bo said. "Where's the pencil and paper."
"Oh very funny." Luke said as he wished he had the strength to whap his cousin.
Bo laughed

Luke was released from the hospital the next day with orders to stay in bed for the next several days and rest. Jesse assured the doctor that Luke would do as he was told.
Once Luke got home he immediatly went to his room to lay down. Bo followed him in to help him get settled in.
"You doing okay Luke?" Bo asked as he gave Luke a couple of spare pillows for comfort.
Luke nodded. "Yeah, just a little tired."
"Well then you take a nap and I'll check on your later." Bo closed the shade, darkening the room, making the light in the ceiling grow brighter. He walked over to the door and looked at his cousin for a moment as he flipped the switch, bathing the room in darkness. Bo was standing there for a moment, staring at his cousin in the darkness.
"Bo...What are you doing?" Luke said as he looked at the silhouette that was his cousin.
"Oh nothing much, I just wanted to see if you glowed in the DARK Cousin!"
Luke reached behind him and got one of the pillows and then lobbed it at Bo. "Very funny." he said
"Well who knows! If you did then that would save us money on lightbulbs." Bo said as he ducked the hurled pillow.
"Well i don't think i'm glowing. So turn the light back on." Luke said
Bo flipped it and picked up the pillow that Luke had thrown at him. "Here, now go to sleep ya glow stick."
Luke couldn't help but laugh. "Yes dad."
"Oh very funny." Bo shut off the light and paused by the door and looked at his cousin watching for a glow. "Just checking..." He said as he closed the door.
And things went back to what passed as normal in Hazzard County.
